Mr. Hari Krishna Devkota has over seventeen years experience in the trekking & mountaineering business in Nepal. Having organized & led countless trekking and expeditions in the Himalayas, He started as a porter at the age of 13, and has worked as a kitchen boy, assistant guide, and guide before deciding to start his own trekking company.
Three years as a kitchen boy; more than three years as assistant guide then guide for five years and now owner of his own trekking company. Mr. Hari has traveled extensively throughout Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India and is extremly knowledgeable about all of the trekking routes in Nepal. He is originally from the Langtang region of Nepal, North of Kathmandu and nearby the Tibetan border. Langtang is Nepal's third popular trekking region.
After completing his school education from his village, Rasuwa, he moved to Kathmandu to continue his higher education. To finance his studies, he worked for many travel/trekking companies and gained immense knowledge and experience. He completed his Master Degree in Economics from Tribhuban University Kathmandu 2008 and completed his M.Phil in Economics in 2012 and is now on the way to his PhD in Economics. Hari is also a part time lecturer of economics and is involved in many social organizations. These days, he is focusing on Philanthropic tourism to work for positive social change in Nepal.
He believes in the protection and preservation of his beautiful country's natural landscape and culture heritage for future generations. He is strongly dedicated to Eco-friendly practices and the improvement of local people's livelihood by providing them with benefits from tourism.
He is an organized professional who speaks Nepali, English, Hindi, and Tibetan.
