We are often asked why our clients love us so much and the answer is simple: great team work. Our staff is a truly experienced, well organized and supportive team that takes pride sharing our beautiful country with our clients. Because of our staff, the High Himalayan trekking family is much more than just a company. Our aim is:
High Himalayan trekking and expedition has always been concerned about mountain porters' and guides' safety and job security. While many companies have thrown away their seasonal employee after they become disabled in some accident, High Himalayan Trekking and Expedition looks after their family, kids' education and guarantees their primary needs will be fulfilled.
All of our treks are led by qualified guides and porters who have been trained in first aid, basic or advanced mountaineering skills, with in-depth knowledge on environmental issues, history of the region, and cultural heritage of the many ethnic groups. High Himalayan Trekking and Expedition has provided thousands of high quality trips for clients all over the region but predominantly Nepal and Tibet.
High Himalayan Trekking and Expedition provides clothing appropriate to season and altitude to porters and guides for protection against cold, rain and snow. This may mean: windproof jacket and trousers, fleece jacket, long johns, suitable footwear (leather boots in snow), socks, hat, gloves and sunglasses. We will provide them with food and warm drinks, cooking equipment and fuel, medical care and insurance. Most of our porters are able to communicate with foreigners in English or a few others languages while our guides are fluent in English, French, Spanish, German, Mandarin or Hindi.
High Himalayan trekking and expedition has its own rescue fund for emergency to cover cost of rescue and treatment for our staff. The porters carry only 30 kg or less below the tree line and 20 Kg or less above the tree line to prevent health problems.
