High Himalayan Trekking and Expedition Company specializes in charity trekking holidays in the Himalayas that support our sister charity, High Himalayan Community Projects Nepal.
Charity trekking involves fundraising at home and then departing on your trip to Nepal to see the communities you will be helping. You can trek in whatever region you wish and can visit our current project sites like the schools, hospitals, and families that we support.
Charity trekking is essentially like a charity walk except that you get to see exactly where your money is going, hike in beautiful scenery, and understand fascinating local culture. If you wish, you can direct your funds to any specialty of your choice such as buying much needed equipment for a local hospital, building a school, starting a library, buying goats or pigs for poor families, supporting sanitation projects or sponsoring a child's education.
Our charity is completely volunteer run and shares an office with our travel company so that there is no overhead costs whatsoever. We can promise you that 100% of the money you donate goes directly to rural communities in Nepal.
As our charity is locally based, we are well known in the communities we work in and understand the various problems and issues they face. Community input is key for successful development which is why all of our projects have a committee made up of local community leaders to make decisions and think of creative solutions.
If you want to have an even more meaningful trip in Nepal, then charity trekking is for you!
