River Rafting

Nepal is known not only for having some of the best trekking in the world but also having the world’s best rivers for white-water rafting and kayaking. This exciting journey takes you down a white cap filled river in an inflatable rubber boat with your team. River rafting in Nepal is relatively easy, cheap and full of variety. You will see the colourful flora, fauna, and village life of rural valleys, areas that are other wise completely isolated. The combination of spectacular rivers, mountain scenery and a rich culture heritage makes Nepal an obvious river runner’s destination. A full day's trip contains about 5hrs of adrenaline rushing rafting.

Whatever your desire for adventure, it is easy to find the perfect river in Nepal. With a wide range of difficulties from a gentle 1 day or 2-day float down the Trishuli and Seti Rivers to an exhilarating 10-day adventure through the rapids on the remote Tamur and Karnali, there is an experience for everyone waiting in Nepal's famous white waters. 

Nepal's rivers change with each season. Peak season for tourists and for rafting is October through November: the monsoon is over, everything is very green, rivers are moderately high but dropping, temperatures are warm and skies are clear with fine mountain views. The winter months from late December through to early February are cold, but skies are still clear and river levels will be low. Lots of river running groups come out over Christmas and have a great time and from late February through to early April is also a good time for river running - river levels are low, the air is warm, and the rivers are warm and blue.

Short trips rafting take between one and four days and some of these trips involve less challenging white water and are ideally suited for first time rafters and families. Others attract experienced thrill-seekers with their world-class rapids. Our longer trips take you into some of Nepal’s most remote areas that often they begin with short treks to the river.
