The large subcontinent of India was considered “the jewel in the crown” for the British Empire and is now separated into Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is considered a newly industrialized country. Despite the fact that 431 million Indians have left poverty since 1985, poverty is still rampant throughout India, leading to large class divides.The geography of India is quite diverse ranging from mountains to flat plains and lush forests to deserts.
