Trip Overview
Lumbini to Dharmashala tour is designed for you to visit some or all of the relevant sites connected to the Buddha’s life. In this Buddhist cultural tour we visit many Buddhist cultural places, monasteries in Kathmandu and continue to Lumbini, Southern regions of Nepal where the Buddha was born, lived, walked, meditated, fasted, attained enlightenment, preached and ultimately attained Paranirvana.
In Amritsar you will visit Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. In Dharamshala, Home of the Dalai Lama the visit includes Tibetan Medical and Astrology (Mentseekhang), Tibetan Government / Parliament in exile (Kashag), Namgyal Monastery Main Temple (Tsulakhang), Gyuto Monastery (Sidhbari), Norbulingka (Institute of Tibetan Culture), Tibetan Library and Archive and Tibetan Children’s Village.
There is nowhere to surpass this wonderful experience countries like Nepal and India where religious and spiritual diversity and you are reminded of what a great geographical, historical and religious nation these are. Temples, Mausoleums, Monasteries, Mountains, Forts, Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Buddha, the Ganges. The list is endless. This trip leads you to visit all the Buddhist Pilgrimage sites whilst taking in the more familiar tourist attractions of Amritsar Golden Temple and the Stunning Taj Mahal. To the North-West in Himachal Pradesh lies the seat of the Tibetan government in exile and the home to the Dalai Lama. To the east lies the Buddha country, Bodh Gaya, where he attained enlightenment, Sarnath and the Deer Park, Rajgir, Vulture Peak and the Nalanda University ruins.
