Discover the spiritual Nagarjun meditation cave and hike to the stupa ontop with a beautiful view over Kathmandu valley.
Nagarjun hill is one of the closest hills to Kathmandu, only requiring a 15 minute drive from Thamel. Nagarjun was named after a very popular Holy man (Mahasiddhas) called Nagarjun who used to stay here and do long hours of meditation. We can still see the Nagarjun Meditation cave and explore the surroundings. There is an old small Buddhist Stupa on the top of the hill.
From the Top of Nagarjun you can see 360 degree views of Kathmandu valley and its surrounding mountains. Every year, people celebrate festivals at the stupa on Buddha's birth day. The hiking at Nagarjun lasts for 3-4 hours is very easy and scenic. High Himalayan Trekking organizes a private day hiking trip to our clients anytime throughout the year.
